Take Part in the 2007 UK Festival Census

After more than 10,000 people took part in our first ever census back in 2005, we thought it was time to see if anything has changed since then in the hearts and minds of the UK's festival-going public since then.

As well as a chance to get your mitts on a shiny blue iPod Nano 4GB (can hold 1000 tunes), this is a great opportunity to help shape the future of festivals by telling the people behind the scenes what you want from your live music events. 

There's no secret agenda, just a bit of fun to highlight your tastes and trends for organisers to act on. The findings will be published for all to see at the end of summer and it's completely anonymous.

What's the big idea?

The Festival Census is the latest interactive offering from VF designed to put YOU in control of the festival scene, following in the footsteps of the UK Festival Awards and our new MyStage section. It's a bit of fun that, like the awards, gives you the power to help make the festival scene better for everyone. The Festival Census aims to give festival organisers and promoters a definitive idea of what people want from their festivals, so they can improve them for everyone.

How does it work?

It's just a fairly quick online survey that allows us to collect your habits, opinions and characteristics to gain a fascinating insight into who goes to festivals and what they want (and don't want) from them. The Census will close at the end of the summer and the results will be published on this site in the run-up to the 2008 festival season. All submissions are completely anonymous and you will not have to give away any personal information.*

Why should I bother?

It won't take long and your input will contribute to a positive and constructive exercise designed to make festivals better for everyone. It's fun and the results will be very interesting for all to see, especially in comparison to the stats from 2005. You'll be entered (if you want to be) into a free prize draw to win an I-Pod Nano.
