V Festival Heads To Australia
Pixies, Gnarls Barkley, The Rapture, Groove Armada, Soulwax and Pet Shop Boys are the first acts confirmed to perform at the two festivals. Both days are expected to attract tens of thousands of music fans.
The two dates are at Sydney's Centennial Park on 31 March and at Gold Coast Avica Resort on 1 April.
V Festival's first foray into the Australian market is the latest attempt by Virgin owner Richard Branson to export the British based festival around the world.
In the same year that V Festival celebrated its tenth year in the UK, there have been one-day events in Canada and the US. Festivals are also being planned in Italy, Spain and South America.
Today's announcement in Sydney follows months of speculation regarding V Festival in Australia, with rumours abound towards the end of summer that organisers had given up on the project.
Tickets for V Festival Australia will go on sale on 4 December.
