Iron Maiden to play Twickenham

Iron Maiden will be playing their first ever stadium show in the UK at the Twickenham Rugby Stadium on 5 July 2008.

Part of the band's 'Somewhere Back In Time' tour, the gig will revisit the band's history by focusing almost entirely on the 1980's in both their choice of songs and the stage set.

It which will be based around the legendary Egyptian Production of the 1984-85 'Powerslave Tour' and will include some key elements of their Somewhere In Time tour of 1986/7, such as the Cyborg Eddie.

Bassist Steve Harris said: "It could be a bit of an understatement to say how excited we all are to be playing this show next summer..."

A full supporting bill will be announced shortly. Tickets go on sale 30 November.
