The New York rapper headlined the event in June and has pledged to return if invited back, despite the controversy surrounding his booking.
A number of people questioned whether hip-hop should take top billing at the historic festival, including Oasis star Noel Gallagher.
But Jay-Z's Saturday night set was widely seen as a triumph after he came on stage performing a cover of 'Wonderwall'.
He told MTV: "Of course I'd come back. It was incredible. I'm glad it went that way, because the world was watching. It's not about genres. It's about good music and bad music."
Asked
why he covered the Oasis track, he
replied: "I have a sense of humour like a Brit, so I thought people would appreciate that. Noel Gallagher was one of
the biggest detractors, so I figured that was a cool way to start the show."
